Re: Art is a Start

Park City, UT is probably the one place that caught my eye with respect to art throughout the city. https://www.parkcity.org/about-us/public-art Sometimes, it was not even fancy, just a bunch of old worn out running shoes tied together and tossed on a tree next to the running trail, an interesting t...

Re: New football building

I think a lot depends on whether the interim/incoming is a "sports-minded" guy or gal. Agreed. Also, forward thinking vs Conservative (in vision not politics). I think having Bainter reinstated is likely more beneficial for this. I heard a lot of the BIG donors for this project were Bainter Boys. N...

Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff

I think the honorable thing to do would be name the incoming Provost as Interim President. He is the #2 dude in the chain of command. Interim, yes. Potentially permanent? Not so sure about that. It couldn't hurt to look at others, I don't think. President searches typically take about 6 months or l...

I think the honorable thing to do would be name the incoming Provost as Interim President on July 1st. He is or will be the #2 dude in the chain of command.

I suppose he can double dip and go get a teaching job somewhere else too while on admin leave. Not a bad deal. Sign me up for that one.

Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff

Guesses on Interim Pres? Idk, but one of my coworkers mentioned that the new incoming provost seemed like he wanted to use the position as a stepping stone to become a university president. Could be a very short step, depending on how things go. So his tenure was earned via his position as presiden...

Wow, he knew how to negotiate a deal, give him credit for that.
It's just how his contract is set up. He has tenure and we have to honor that.
So his tenure was earned via his position as president, not as a member of the faculty?
