Re: Poll for Women's Teams
But track and field scholies are not distributed in indoor outdoor fashion. Eligibility is but not scholarship money. You can't wait to start track and field outdoors and have any success what so ever. Its all or none, either you have track and field, or you don't! jc

Re: Another way to look at things!
Guess my point is, there is more to dropping or competing in a sport than meets the eye! Competing in some of the team sports that people want to drop may not be as expensive as was first thought! jc

Re: Another way to look at things!
Yes, I am a half full kinda guy. Just was trying to point out that in track and field and swimming there are 76 parents that are paying full tuition for their students to participate in D1 athletics! That equate to a simplified 1.6 million paid to the university! jc

Another way to look at things!
I have continually heard we have to cut sports, cut, cut, cut on this board. I really understand the end of Men’s Tennis. Just did not seem cost effective in the long run. But I have a different way, I think, to look at athletics that I don’t think we have ever considered. Bear or bare with me on th...

Re: University Budget Address
Its beginning to look like there is a slight thaw going on between the governor and Madigan. At least it appears that they or their people are talking. Rauner still wants less union involvement and Madigan stated yesterday that he still wanted a 5% state tax. I wonder if they can meet somewhere in t...

Re: WIU dropping Men's Tennis
It also answers the question, "hey we have to down size some, what can the athletic department throw into the pot?" How many scholies does women's tennis get? They seem up and coming, maybe they could use some help. jc

Re: Game at North Dakota
I still think there is a lot to be said for 3 passes before a shot and make sure you have some of your team mates under the hoop when you shoot. Just saying..... jc

Re: University Budget Address
I really think this move makes good sense. Terre has constantly preached "determine what you do well and keep doing it" in regards to course and major offerings and this seems like a good example of something that WIU has not done very well in the recent past and its just time to let it go...

Re: WIU dropping Men's Tennis
Well geez Chris, how about all the other state schools facing financial difficulties, ie. EIU, NIU, SIU? Athletics has always been an important part of the WIU culture and it always will. It may not look the same as it does right now as far as sports sponsored, but there will always be athletics at ...
