Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff
Rauner obviously did not take good notes during the most recent presidential election. Yes, he too has promised to cut taxes and yes, he has promised to bring back jobs. His failure now is simply one of tone and rhetoric. He really needs to model his behavior after the newly elected populist conman ...

Re: 11/29 @ American U
Purdue vs louisville, looks like we might be able to stay in the game with Purdue, if Coach Wright can see their weaknesses, . We gotta make them turn the ball over, and hit shots and I think we can be in it. I didn't say win it, but we can compete. We were in the Kstate game till coach started his...

Re: 11/29 @ American U
A month ago, if someone told me that on Dec 1, BOTH the Necks and Jacks would have RPIs in 320+ range, I would have told them they have a screw loose. But such is the state of the world. Do really smart coaches know when their program is going to take a serious downturn and hit the road for greener ...

Re: at Missouri
Women are surprising a few onlookers this year including moi. Very respectable RPI ranking at this juncture. Knock on wood, we will still be in that same vicinity about 3 months from now.

Re: 11/29 @ American U
Mo hardly ever blew a 10 point lead. On the other hand, never came back from a 10 point deficit either. But I think the EIU and this game would have been Ws under the slow and deliberate take the air out of the ball Mo system.

Re: 11/29 @ American U
McAvoy his senior year was a stud. This year, Covington is the only player we have who can 1) create his own shot and 2) fairly reliable put it in the hole or get to the line. So if you are looking for points, where else would you look? JoeW, you are right. We are too soft to compete at the D1 level...

Re: 11/29 @ American U
Just for the sake of discussion, I wonder what some old-timers on this board think about our talent level the last ten years or so. Are we better or worse now than the D2 days of Dykstra, Lilly, Banks, and company. IMHO, those guys were better ball players but I also know it is hard to compare D2 an...

Re: 11/29 @ American U
In the early mid 80s, I would go to Fort Meyers base just outside of DC to watch American play. Saw "The Admiral" David Robinson play there numerous times.

Re: 11/29 @ American U
Could Hughes be our missing link? IMO, he has done more offensively in limited minutes this half than any big man this year. Ancrum is rather unique. He can play PG and even a stretch 4. He needs about 15 pounds of muscle to take his game to the next level.

Re: 11/29 @ American U
Covington is always going to draw best defender and even some double-teaming. Not too surprised his TO numbers are up. We need a couple of other guys to consistently put in 12-15 points a game to take the heat off him.
