Re: Jaelon Acklin

practice squad for Jaelon. Thought he had a pretty good chance to make the roster, but we might see him there down the road.

Re: Jaelon Acklin

Also mixing up in practice with former Saint and CFL's highest paid DB Delvin Breaux. That dude has a crazy back story by the way.

Re: Roster Changes 2019

By my count, we have 8 on the current roster plus the 4 (?) new guys with LOIs. Billy still got room for a diamond in the rough from somewhere. Would like to see a PF grad transfer. Claar seems like a good dude, but he's not effective enough. New guy Smith is probably more of a PF than C, but could...

Re: Football Recruits - 2019

This was a big need coming into 2019. The D is going to be sick! Another addition on defense: Justin Nutof, Safety, 5' 11", 195 lb, originally from South Elgin, IL, played in 7 games last year for Iowa Central Community College (29 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 2 intercept...

Re: Sean McGuire

CFL tentatively has a new deal in place. Believe they offered him a contract after an April tryout and he waited to see how his NFL mini camps went. Read somewhere Streveler was the first rookie QB to start a CFL season opener since the mid 90's. Believe he had 3 starts before their #1 returned from...

Re: Is there something in the Red River water?

Winning draws better talent and don't forget they offer player stipends to all their athletes. With Liberty moving up, not sure if there's another FCS program offering stipends and not many mid-majors in other sports able to. Both those make a big difference in the type of athletes you attrack. Nice...

Re: Football Recruits - 2019

Unless Olaga graduated in 2 years or receives a waiver, he'll likely be sitting out this year. Olaga looks decent on his tape and played well against Missouri State. Looks to have lost his job this spring to a DII transfer who sat out at Lincoln in 2018. Might question what we're doing taking a kid ...

Re: Basketball Recruits - 2019

For those not 100% sold on Kyle Arrington, we've just landed another big man in Roderick Smith. Looks promising. Also, signed another wing/guard in Anthony Jones Jr. He was on a pretty good juco team, but wasn't a started and some games didn't log a ton of minutes. So far like the Allen and Smith ad...

Re: Basketball Recruits - 2019

So does anyone know how good this young man is? Seal, you are usually very good at getting to the bottom of this time of thing! ;) jc I watched his highlights when I first saw his offer on verbalcommits and was super impressed. Was crossing my finger we could get him. Dude has hops and that is some...

Re: Khalen Saunders

Correct me if I'm wrong (which I never am) but didn't Western at one point 10-15 years ago have the most players on NFL rosters out of all of the FCS? I graduated in '97 and I recall a few, maybe more, years later, noticing that Western Had like 10-13 players on NFL rosters. This was before the Dak...
