Ok, this one is really weird.
Apparently NAU's AD left for a job at another school and the school "unfired" HC Souers. Very odd.

Re: WIU at Weber State (11/25/17) - Playoffs Round 1
Whenever possible, they match up teams so that it's a bus trip rather than a flight (I think the limit is 400 miles or something). If it's beyond that though, it doesn't really matter much since it's a flight wherever. We wouldn't have gotten matched up with USD though because there's a rule against...

In general I usually prefer radio announcers to TV ones (there's a few exceptions here or there). Usually if I'm at home, I'll pull up the game on the TV (ESPN3 streaming through roku), mute it, then bring up the radio feed on the computer. Then I can still get stuff done, occasionally watching the ...

And Stitt has been fired Just beat me to it. It's rumored that former Montana HC Bobby Hauck is the top candidate (and is very interested) in returning to the program. Hauck was born in Missoula, ran track at Montana (and brother was a star DB for the Grizzlies), and was the head coach at Montana f...

Re: WIU at Weber State (11/25/17) - Playoffs Round 1
Thanks! It didn't sound right when I heard it, so either I misunderstood the broadcaster or they were flat out wrong. Either way, that makes more sense; it seemed to me just by watching this year that we we're a pretty good red zone offense. Was this the radio guys or the announcers on ESPN3? Also,...

Here's what I've seen so far: Alabama State - Brian Jenkins Holy Cross - Tom Gilmore Northwestern State - Jay Thomas Tennessee Tech - Marcus Satterfield Northern Arizona - Souers (technically contract not being renewed, announced early in the season) Delaware State - Kenneth Carter Alabama A&M -...

Re: WIU at Weber State (11/25/17) - Playoffs Round 1
Scott, I wasn't talking our red zone defense as a weakness, from what I heard on the broadcast, statistically, we rank near the bottom in red zone OFFENSE. Is that correct? IE, our weakness would going up against a team strength of Weber State. Oh...ok yeah, I got ya. Red zone offense, we are 21st ...

Re: WIU at Weber State (11/25/17) - Playoffs Round 1
This will be another game where we fight altitude, correct? Meh....kinda, but not like NAU. Ogden is ~4,300 ft, like 2,700 ft lower than Flagstaff. Altitude is one of the factors I'm worried about least in this game along with crowd size/noise. They averaged 9,184 per home game this season, which i...

For some reason, my first post in the thread is glitching in tapatalk. If you use tapatalk, you might need to open it in Web View to see the whole post. It's showing up fine on the computer/web view. So, in many ways, they're very similar to both us and Illinois State, although they get really tough...
