Did anybody notice in the Leatherneck Club newsletter that just came out over the weekend, the volleyball team is having a fundraising drive coming up. In the info about it, it said one of the things the money would be used for is permanent video boards in Western Hall. THat is great, but my question is shouldn't the basketball teams chip in also for those and maybe they will. I just thought is was weird that that was one of the items listed that money was being raised for.

I think one of the boards was not working after being moved in after football season. Did that get fixed?

It was the video board on the east wall that had not been working. That problem has been corrected.

Volleyball happens during FB season so they don't have the boards like we do for BkB. I'm guessing they want something similar. Of course, the whole think would be nice if we had a new scoreboard/videoboard combo!

And hopefully in BkB, they'll start running the video boards independently, e.g., feed from the stats on one board all the time and game video on the other.

That may work if you are sitting towards the center of the floor. But if you are off to one side or behind a basket, you are only able to see one of the video boards.

Probably best to run the same image on both screens.

The video boards are part of the scoreboard at Purdue and they are put to good use throughout the game to watch closeups of fouls and such, and the pregame and halftime are definitely filled with the video board material and game stats, but during the game even though its up there, I never watch the action there because its much closer and better to watch the actual action on the floor. I think the boards are in the right place for everyone to see until we can replace our scoreboard with one with four screens. Tere, I agree with surrounding the playing surface with students, but someone has got to choreograph what those students are suppose to be doing. Wish I was young and closer to Macomb, I would love to get the Purple Platoon moving in the right direction. ;) jc
