Volleyball

Football gets all the press this time of year, but I wanted to point out also that it's 10 days until the Leathernecks Volleyball team home opener.
It'll actually be a part of the Leatherneck Invitational...a tournament involving Western, UTEP, Saint Louis, and Eastern Illinois. Western plays Eastern on 9/5, then UTEP and Saint Louis on 9/6.

Western volleyball is now 0-6.
Next home game will be Tuesday (Sept 9) vs Bradley. Game time is 7PM at Western Hall. Admission is FREE!
Bradley is also 0-6. Someone will be getting their first win of the season.

Western won its first Volleyball match of the season by beating Bradley tonight 3 games to 1: 25-17, 12-25, 25-17, 25-23.
Attendance was 184.
Western is now 1-6 on the season.
Volleyball will now be on the road for two tournaments:
UIC Invitational, Sept 12-13 (Western, Buffalo, Eastern Kentucky, UIC)
Hoosier Classic, Sept 19-20 (Western, Butler, Indiana, Buffalo)
Next home game will be Sept 26 vs Denver at 7PM.

Western lost the Volleyball match vs Denver on Friday: 18-25, 21-25, 18-25.
BIG crowd at Western Hall.
Western is now 2-12 (0-1 in the Summit).
Next match will be Sunday at 2PM in Western Hall vs Nebraska-Omaha.

Western Volleyball lost the match with Nebraska-Omaha 3-1 (14-25, 28-26, 24-26, 22-25).
Western's record is now 2-13 (0-2, Summit).
Attendance at Western Hall was 212.
The team will be home again on Friday at 7PM vs IPFW.
NOTICE: Due to the Homecoming Concert, this match will be played at Brophy Hall.

another disappointing loss, once again I ask how long does April get? I'm not calling for her to be fired, just wondering what others think. She seems nice and am rooting for her but volleyball program is really down right now

Glad to see the volleyball team get a win tonight, hopefully this will give them some confindence and they will get on a roll
