So, it looks like after a series of disappointing seasons, Dr. Ted Flogaites will not be brought back as the women's soccer coach.
Prior to Western, he had success at a series of different schools below the Div. I level (mostly NAIA, it looks like) but couldn't get things going here, and with the win totals trending downwards over his years here (13->8->5->2), it was time to make a change.

No real surprise here. Western has a record of 28-42-3 overall and 13-17-1 in the Summit League over the last four seasons.

In reading the post-game write-up's on the Athletics website, Coach Ted Flogaites tended to lay the blame for a loss on the players.

Had good success at Hastings College in Nebraska. What does Hastings have that we dont? Dr. Tom Osborne and about 22 other members of his family who have graduated from there pumping money into the facilities. We can only scratch our heads and wonder.

Bill Parcells is also a Hastings grad.

Hastings Athletics play at the NAIA level.

With the $14.5 million Osborne Family Sports Complex, Hastings has one of the finest athletic facilities at the NAIA level.

Agree. I always looked forward to reading the women's soccer write-ups because he always had some unusual and interesting comments

Looks like it is official Johnson will be coaching the women's team. Can't tell from the release if this is an one year deal or permanent. Kinda sounded like maybe an one year thing. Anyway really buttered this arrangement up in the release. I wonder if they told Johnson what to say or just made up his quotes. ;0
