The previously mentioned Elijah Jones (had verbally committed) has signed and sent in his NLI, so he's officially a Leatherneck next fall it looks like.

Disappointing, but not unexpected whenever there's a coaching change. Maybe whomever gets picked as our new HC can reach out and try to convince him to stick with Western.

I remember about 10 years ago TVA did this to a kid also. I believe he went to play for Kentucky once it got settled.

With the new rules I didn't think they can restrict a kid from entering the transfer portal.

Yes, TVA did this very thing with Josh Harrellson, a Derek Thomas recruit and then Derek was let go. TVA and WIU got biltzed by the St. Louis media over this. Harrellson ended up at a juco and then played at Kentucky.
