Redshirt in '13, played a little in one game in '14, will have 3 years of eligibility.

TE Joe Turk (Ridge Point HS, Missouri City, TX -> Central Florida)
Played 9 games on special teams as a true freshman for the Knights. Will have 3 years of eligibility (also still has redshirt year available if necessary).

He played TE and DE in high school, but is listed as just a TE on the UCF athletics site. It seems like a lot of the guys who are good enough to play football at the D1 level (especially high FCS like the MVFC or low FBS like UCF) were good enough athletes to play both sides of the ball in HS, so he's got experience at both. I'd expect we'll likely see him more at a tight end/blocking fullback-type position.

He's actually coming in as TE/FB. He's really a good athlete and has good hands. I've been told he will be used at both positions. I can only imagine him lead blocking for one of our RB's! He's built like a brick s_ _ t house!!

Hampshire had a very strong football program back in the late '70s. Pretty cool nickname as well.
