Basketball lost one of the greatest coaches of all time no one did more for the women's game than Pat.

It was a classy move by ESPN to recognize Pat Summitt alongside Boxing legend Muhammad Ali "The Greatest", and Hockey legend Gordie Howe who many call "The Greatest". NHL legend Wayne Gretzky called Gordie Howe The Greatest hockey player he has ever seen.
ESPN recognized all 3 (Pat Summitt, Muhammad Ali and Gordie Howe) as legends the sporting world lost in June of 2016. Pat Summitt was listed in a 2009 Sporting News article as one of the 50 greatest coaches of all time and she also earned the Naismith Coach of the Century award in 2000 among several other awards before and after 2000. Eight national championships, never a losing season in her 38 years of coaching, a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012. Yes Pat Summitt belongs on a list of all time greats.
