If you want to talk about Monmouth University Football, Quincy University Basketball, Notre Dame Men's Soccer, or whatever, this is the place.

Up this week in the MVFC:
Youngstown State at Illinois State - 2 PM
North Dakota State at Missouri State - 2 PM
Northern Iowa at South Dakota - 2 PM
South Dakota State at Southern Illinois - 6 PM

Other teams we've played this season:
Tennessee State at Eastern Illinois - 6 PM
Northern Arizona at Montana State - 6 PM
Northern Illinois at Western Michigan - 5:30

Also, for anyone unaware, Hurricane Matthew is currently projected to hit the east coast of central Florida and follow up the coast past Georgia and South Carolina on Saturday and into early Sunday. This has affected a few FCS games that were scheduled to happen in the affected areas on Saturday:
Albany State @ Charleston Southern - Rescheduled from Saturday to Thursday, then postponed
New Hampshire @ Elon - Rescheduled from Saturday to Friday night
Bethune-Cookman @ South Carolina State - postponed
North Greenville @ The Citadel - location changed, North Greenville (DII) will host the game

I'm baffled. Looking at the scores today I don't know what to expect out of the Valley this season. Either everyone else is much better than I had thought they'd be, or we're not as good as the first 3 games indicated (to me, anyway).

yea....a couple of expected results...a couple of head scratchers. Here's the final scores for the previously mentioned games:

Youngstown State - 20
Illinois State - 6

North Dakota State - 27
Missouri State - 3

Northern Iowa - 25
South Dakota - 28
USD QB Chris Streveler passes for 182 yards and 2 TDs and is also the team's leading rusher with 128 yards and a TD on the ground

South Dakota State - 45
Southern Illinois - 39
SDSU's QB Taryn Christion again throws for over 350 yards (466 this time) and 5 TDs.

And other teams we've played this season:

Tennessee State - 34
Eastern Illinois - 35

Northern Arizona - 20
Montana State - 14

Northern Illinois - 30
Western Michigan - 45

Not a bad day for our OOC games (WMU is pretty good, so it was expected they'd beat NIU, although it was a closer result than many expected.

Based on stats, three teams are starting to distinguish themselves - YSU (they look like the real deal), NDSU (special teams are suspect), and SDSU (defense is questionable but passing offense is almost unstoppable)

Embrace the pace of the race.

Attendance at above-referenced games:

Indiana State at Western = 5,487.
Youngstown State at Illinois State = 12,570.
North Dakota State at Missouri State = 10,462.
Northern Iowa at South Dakota = 10,221.
South Dakota State at Southern Illinois = 5,704.

Tennessee State at Eastern Illinois = 4,319.
Northern Arizona at Montana State = 17,637.
Northern Illinois at Western Michigan = 28,042.

I don't know what to make of the lower attendance figures for three of the games played in Illinois (Western, EIU, and SIU-C).
