If you want to talk about Monmouth University Football, Quincy University Basketball, Notre Dame Men's Soccer, or whatever, this is the place.

Kinda a wild week last week, but that's just how it goes in the MVFC.

Here's the other conference games going on this weekend (outside of Macomb):

Missouri State at Northern Iowa - 1 PM
Illinois State at South Dakota - 2 PM
Indiana State at Southern Illinois - 2 PM
Youngstown State at South Dakota State - 2 PM

As usual, here's my preview of this week's MVFC games (you'll probably recognize some of my comments about our game from my post over in our own football area: http://thefcswedge.com/mvfc/mvfc-week-8-preview/

And for our OOC opponents this season:
Montana at Northern Arizona - 6 PM
Murray State at Eastern Illinois - 1 PM
Buffalo at Northern Illinois - 2:30 PM

Their offense is "middle of the pack"...good at running, but very bad at passing. That D-line though....beasts. Nobody's running on the Penguins this year.

Holy carp....I figured UNI would beat Missouri State, but they're like an entirely different team (WAY better) with Dunn at QB rather than Bailey.

I predicted UNI by 7....I should have added a decimal place...70. They're up 54-7 after 3 quarters.

EDIT - UNI pretty much just ran the ball right up the middle nearly every play in the 4th quarter...still got another TD. 61-7 was the final, UNI over MSU. I thought we'd have a chance against UNI, but now....I think maybe I'm not going to think about it. Dunn threw for 418 yards and 2 TDs (he had 300+ yards in the first half alone). That's like 3 games worth of Bailey playing.

It is conceivable that the five schools south of the 41st N Parallel will all be missing the playoffs this year.

Much work to do in the weeks ahead.
Embrace the pace of the race.

I guess I forgot to post the full results. Sorry, in all my excitement from the Cubs I was a bit distracted.

Anyway, here's my week in review over at theFCSWedge.com: http://thefcswedge.com/mvfc/mvfc-week-8-review/
And here's the scores:

Missouri State - 7
Northern Iowa - 61

Illinois State - 24
South Dakota - 27

Indiana State - 22
Southern Illinois - 14

Youngstown State - 10
South Dakota State - 24

And our OOC friends:

Murray State - 40
Eastern Illinois - 38

Montana - 34
Northern Arizona - 45
Nice win by the Lumberjacks

And we know for sure that NIU is at least not the worst team in the MAC because in addition to their win over Ball State a few weeks ago...
Buffalo - 7
Northern Illinois - 44
