Monmouth playing for conference tournament today

Anyone who has free time this afternoon Monmouth College plays in there conference tournament championship game at 3 in Monmouth with a change to go to the NCAA DIII tournament.

In Friday's semi-final game, Monmouth rallied back from a 16-point deficit (48-32) to defeat Lake Forest 87-81.

In the other semi-final game, Ripon beat St Norbert 82-60.

So it will be Monmouth vs Ripon in today's championship game. The winner goes to the NCAA Tournament.

Game time is 3PM today at Monmouth College.

Not they have a lot of choices, but the Scots have their student section directly opposite side of court from player bench. This is the best place for it. That is where our Purple Platoon needs to set up camp to have the most impact. Also kudos to them for standing the whole game and getting a good number of "Bullsh*t"(s) on the bad calls.

Paul Engo is impressive. Only 6'1" but plays about 6'4".

Monmouth wins 79-76!

Monmouth finishes the regular season with a 20-7 record. Monmouth was 6-17 last year.

Monmouth wins its first Midwest Conference championship since 1990!

Monmouth's 20th win this season tied the program record. The Scots will learn their first-round NCAA opponent Monday morning. The selection show will be available on-line at 11:30 AM Central Time on NCAA.com.

Attendance at Monmouth College = 1,100.

What a fun game to be at not many open seats lets hope coach Wright ask for the tape of that game so he can show the guys how to play hard.

I wonder of Monmouth Coach Todd Skrivseth is interested in coming down the road just a bit to coach a DI school? There might be an opening around these parts fairly soon.

Tanney has a tough decision to make. How a team can look very respectable on Thursday and totally inept two days later is a head scratcher. Maybe he has already made his decision or maybe the players were serving up a little food for thought last night. Honestly, when I was watching the game last night, I had flashbacks to Mark Hendrikson's last football game and the writing was on the wall after that one.
