The Augustana College Men's Basketball team is back in the NCAA Division 3 tournament.

They won Friday night's first-round game 93-67 over to Aurora University. They will be playing a second-round game tonight (March 2) vs Capital (Bexley, Ohio). Game time is 7:00 PM. Augustana was one of the 16 teams hosting an opening-round series.

Augie averaged 1200 at home this year. That is getting it done.

The Vikes will be hosting Wheaton on Friday.

D3 championship this year will be at one of the homes of the Mastodons, War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.

Augustana will host an NCAA Division III Sectional for the fourth time in five years.

Third-ranked Augustana (26-3) will take on CCIW foe Wheaton (21-8) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8 in the second sectional semifinal game.

22nd-ranked Marietta (22-6) and number 25 Oswego State (24-5) will play the first game on Friday, tipping off at 5:30 p.m.

Friday's winners will meet for the sectional title at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, with the winner earning a trip to the Final Four in Fort Wayne.

The attendance for Saturday night's game vs Capital was 1,846.

Great program. They lost to a decent Illinois State team by 8 in an exhibition game. 3 regular season losses, first to Loras in Dubuque by one and twice to North Central, who just lost to Loras in the Tourney.

Friday night's Sectional Semi-Final Games at Augustana:
5:30 PM: Marietta vs Oswego State.
7:30 PM: Augustana vs Wheaton

Augustana had a 36-30 halftime lead. But they were outscored by 20 points in the second half. Wheaton won the game 93-79. Wheaton scored 63 points in the second half. Augustana had won both games with Wheaton during the regular season.

Wheaton will play Marietta (Ohio) in Saturday's Sectional championship game. Game time is 7PM. The winner moves on to next week's Final Four in Fort Wayne.
