But otherwise, here's the games involving MVFC teams this weekend. I'm including North Dakota in this...they're "independent" this year, but will be MVFC next year.

1 PM - Illinois State (8-4) at Southeast Missouri State (9-3), ESPN3 - winner plays at #8 Central Arkansas
1 PM - San Diego (9-2) at Northern Iowa (8-4), ESPN3 - winner plays at #7 South Dakota State
3 PM - North Dakota (7-4) at Nicholls (8-4), ESPN3 - winner plays at #1 North Dakota State

Also, 2019 WIU opponent Montana State earned the 5th seed and will host the winner of Albany and Central Connecticut State

This is FBS "rivalry week", so there's a lot of big rivalry matchups across the country. "Locally", there's:
Friday at 1:30 PM - #17 Iowa (8-3) at Nebraska (5-6), BTN (Heroes Trophy)
11 AM - Northwestern (2-9) at Illinois (6-5), FS1 (Land of Lincoln Trophy)
1:30 PM - Missouri (5-6) at Arkansas (2-9), CBS (Battle Line Rivalry)

Other big games include #2 Ohio State at #13 Michigan (The Game), #5 Alabama at #15 Auburn (The Iron Bowl), #12 Wisconsin at #10 Minnesota (Paul Bunyan's Axe), and #9 Oklahoma vs #21 Oklahoma State (Bedlam)

Others have mentioned Monmouth being in the DIII playoffs, so I thought I'd go ahead and post any fairly local teams still in DII or DIII playoffs:

DII Lindenwood (MO) will play at #3 Northwest Missouri State
DII #1 Minnesota State takes on #4 Colorado State - Pueblo.
MN State is one that's often mentioned as a MVFC and/or Summit addition if they ever move up to DI.

DIII Wisconsin-Whitewater plays Wartburg (IA). UW-Whitewater was the team that defeated Monmouth last round.
DIII Wheaton College (IL) hosts Central College (IA)

Nearby Truman State will be playing in the America's Crossroads Bowl Game on December 7 vs Ohio Dominican University.

Northern Illinois has another "MACtion Tuesday" home game on Nov 26 vs Western Michigan. Game time is 6:00 PM. The game will be on ESPNU. Last game of the season for NIU, so it will be Senior Night in DeKalb.

In tonight's "MACtion Tuesday" game, Northern Illinois beat Western Michigan 17-14.

Northern Illinois finishes the season with a 5-7 record (4-4 in the MAC).

FCS first-round Playoffs:
Monmouth (New Jersey) beat Holy Cross 44-27. Attendance at Monmouth = 2,817.

Albany beat Central Connecticut 42-14. Attendance at Albany = 1,660.

Illinois State beat Southeast Missouri State 24-6. Attendance at Southeast Missouri = 3,274.

Northern Iowa beat San Diego 17-3. Attendance at Northern Iowa = 3,743.

Austin Peay beat Furman 42-6. Attendance at Austin Peay = 3,559.

Nicholls State beat North Dakota 24-6. Attendance at Nicholls State = 10,071.

Kennesaw State beat Wofford 28-21. Attendance at Wofford = 1,992.

Southeast Louisiana beat Villanova 45-44. Attendance at Southeast Louisiana = 4,172.


NCAA Division 2 second-round Playoffs:
Northwest Missouri State beat Lindenwood (St. Charles) 63-17. Attendance at Northwest Missouri State = 3,508.
Lindenwood won the GLVC with a 7-0 record.


NCAA Division 3 second-round Playoffs involving teams from Illinois:
North Central beat Mount Union 59-52. Attendance at Mount Union = 3,227.

Wheaton College beat Central College (Iowa) 49-13. Attendance at Wheaton College = 1,180.

So except for the Nicholls State game, our attendance figures don't look all that bad compared to these playoff figures.

True, although if we'd hosted a game, we probably would have been closer to ~500.

The crowds for those games played on the Saturday after Thanksgiving are usually small because a lot of people are still out of town. Crowds should be larger for the Dec 7 games.
