The NCAA essentially "punted" down to each division and sport to decide on whether they will be holding a championship this year. There was a stipulation that if more than 50% of teams in a division are not playing, they will not hold a championship.
With that being said, both DII and DIII have now said they will not be having a championship this year. No word on FCS yet.
I assume that this also means that we will likely see quite a few more DII and DIII conferences and schools go ahead and cancel the season.

The Big Sky just cancelled the 2020 football season.
At the very least, that means that WIU's game against Eastern Washington is now cancelled. Although quite likely, this means that the FCS will not be playing football this fall at all.

Brian McLaughlin from HERO Sports reported at 1:20 p.m. that more than two-thirds of the Big Sky Conference programs voted against playing football this fall due to the coronavirus.

About 30 minutes later, McLaughlin indicated the conference athletic directors recommend moving to an eight-game conference schedule this spring. Programs would have the option to play three non-conference games in the fall.

The Big Sky Presidents’ Council must vote on these recommendations. It has not yet convened, and there is no time table for which it must have a decision.

Sounds like Big Sky is trying to figure out football in the spring. Also, the Pioneer League is rumored to be cancelling their season. They had previously said they were going to a conference-only schedule, although that wouldn't do much to limit travel considering how spread out most of them are.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and in prioritizing the health and well-being of student-athletes, Northern Illinois University has joined the other 11 institutions of the Mid-American Conference to postpone all fall sports competitions for 2020.

The postponement affects the 2020 fall seasons for the NIU football, volleyball, women's cross country, and men's and women's soccer programs, as well as the non-championship segments of the men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis competitions scheduled for this fall.

The decision, made by the MAC Council of Presidents, was announced by the league, which also expressed its intention to provide opportunities for student-athletes to compete this spring if health and safety concerns can be alleviated.

In another move highlighting growing concerns about COVID-19′s impact on athletes, the Big Ten announced today that it will not progress to padded football practices at this time. The Big Ten wants to evaluate safety before progressing to full-contact practices.

Big Ten presidents planned to meet today and “all options are on the table,” with some presidential support for canceling the fall season, according to Yahoo Sports.

Commissioners of the Power 5 conferences held an emergency meeting on Sunday, as there is growing concern among college athletics officials that the upcoming football season and other fall sports can't be played because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Big Ten presidents, following a meeting on Saturday, are ready to pull the plug on its fall sports season, and they wanted to gauge if commissioners and university presidents and chancellors from the other Power 5 conferences -- the ACC, Big 12, Pac 12, and SEC -- will fall in line with them.

Some issues over at North Alabama: https://www.waff.com/2020/08/10/una-foo ... -walk-out/
No word on how this might affect our scheduled game with them that is supposed to take place three weeks from this Thursday.

Just to be clear, I don't think any college football games will happen this fall at any level, but nothing has officially been said about our OOC games yet.
