McAllister’s Deli should open on East Jackson Street in about 21 days.

A list of development options was delivered to the owner of the recently-closed Red Ox Restaurant.

Guadalajara Bar and Grill has been sold and will soon re-open as Los Tapatios. The city has been working with the new owners for two months.

The location will actually be staying open, though under new ownership and a new name. It will remain Guadalajara's until the new owner can get the liquor license approved, then the name will change.

McAllister's Deli will do a “soft opening” on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) to ease staff members into the routine of serving customers. They are scheduled to open on Monday, March 19.

From Friday's Western Courier (by Steven Barnum, Assistant News Editor):

Macomb mayor Mike Inman spoke about the lack of a 24-hour restaurant in Macomb. One obstacle to drawing in a place like Steak ‘n Shake relates back to a decline in student enrollment.

Unstable student enrollment would make a restaurant less likely to come to town. A more looming issue however may be maintaining the restaurants currently in town. Red Ox shut its doors recently, and Guadalajara will be closing later this month; although, a restaurant under new management is expected to open in Guadalajara’s place in April.

Alright, who here is going to be brave and test out the McAlister's staff by going in and asking for "The Godfather" secret menu item?
