Alisa Goler is apparently going to be our new Head Softball Coach: https://justinsworldsb.com/2020/06/22/a ... ead-coach/

Spent the last two seasons as an assistant/hitting coach at Penn State, and before that, she spent 3 years on staff at Syracuse. She spent her playing career at Georgia, where she was a 3-time All-American, and played 7 seasons in the National Pro Fastpitch League, twice named all-league.

Anybody have any idea what her connection to Illinois is? Did she grow up in Illinois? I think it said something about returning to Illinos but never explained. Also a softball message board I read, they thought it was a good hire.

According to the Western Athletics write-up, she began her coaching career at Roosevelt University in 2014, where she served as the hitting coach. She had seven years of professional play in the National Pro Fast-Pitch (NPF) after being drafted by the Chicago Bandits in 2011.

Any chance her and Sammy Marshall played together I can’t find where it says she played for just that she was drafted by Chicago

From the National Pro Fastpitch historical rosters page (https://profastpitch.com/rosters/historical-rosters/):
Goler, Alisa - Chicago Bandits, 2011-14; PA Rebellion, 2015-14; PA Rebellion, 2015-16; Scrap Yard Dawgs, 2017; Texas Charge, 2017
Marshall, Samantha - Chicago Bandits, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018; Cleveland Comets 2019

So it looks like they just missed each other on the Chicago roster, although I'm sure they're familiar with each other.
