The next "MACtion" television contract may not be as profitable. ESPN has been losing subscribers as people have been moving away from cable and satellite. As a result, there have been lots of layoffs at ESPN.

The MAC schools may have to attempt to woo back season-ticket holders that have walked away since the inception of the mid-week games.

NIU has 6 home games this season. But only the first 3 were on Saturdays. The last 3 are on Wednesday or Thursday nights.

This has had a big impact on those DeKalb merchants and shops that depend on a big Saturday game crowd to fill their place of business.

I guess I didn't realize the mid week games affected the schedule that much. One game a year mid week isn't bad, but, three of your home games can be an issue.

It's a start - wish it would have been advertised earlier, though. http://goleathernecks.com/news/2017/11/ ... aways.aspx

My wife and I were strongly thinking about driving over to the game. Guess these free tickets won't help us any.

Call the ticket office and see if they can do anything for you. You got nothing to lose by asking.....

Ask at the ticket window at tonight's game. Shelby McAvoy is the Assistant Director for Ticketing, Events and Annual Fund. She is usually at the games.

This went out today to all Facilities Management employees:
All,
Athletics has been kind enough to offer FREE tickets to the game on Saturday, November 18, to any of our employees and their families that would like to attend. If you would like to have tickets, please let me or your superintendent know by the end of today and we will get tickets for you.
Thank you.

So it sounds like they're doing what they can to get employees to go to the game. I do think that doing a promotion with Amtrak like they did a couple of years ago, and doing something with the local high schools would be good too (it's too late to implement something for this weekend, but for every year that we play at home the weekend before thanksgiving, we should do it).
