The Athletics department is putting together a video of people singing/playing the fight song. Here's what I've received from them:

To our most spirited Leathernecks,

WIU Athletics is putting together a mash-up video to compete in a bracket challenge on Twitter against other schools in the Summit League. They need YOUR help to make it happen. Follow the steps below to be featured in this video!

Step 1: Dress up in your most spirited Leatherneck gear
Step 2: Film yourself (phone horizontal) singing/playing/chanting/dancing our Fight Song
Step 3: Submit your video to this Google folder no later than Friday, May 29th (the sooner the better)

Don't know, but I just received word that Athletics has pushed back the deadline to June 19th. If anyone hasn't participated yet, you have until a week from this Friday to get your video in.

The Summit Spirit Challenge is set to begin next week on Twitter as all nine members have submitted videos with their respective school fight songs to see who will be crowned the champion of this social media contest.

With nine members, the contestants were randomly placed into three different pools and the winner of each pool will advance to the the finals.

Fans who like, re-tweet, and vote during each of the three pools will have an opportunity to win a $25 SCHEELS gift card. Fans can only win one gift card during the Summit Spirit Challenge and must do all three elements on Twitter to be entered. Winners will be notified following the conclusion of the contest.

Pool A: South Dakota State | Kansas City | Western Illinois (Voting Opens July 13 at 10 a.m. CT and closes July 14 at 5 p.m. CT).

Pool B: North Dakota State | North Dakota | Omaha (Voting Opens July 15 at 10 a.m. CT and closes July 16 at 5 p.m. CT).

Pool C: South Dakota | Oral Roberts | Denver (Voting Opens July 20 at 10 a.m. CT and closes July 21 at 5 p.m. CT).

Voting will be conducted on The Summit League's primary Twitter account, which is @TheSummitLeague.

Voting is now under way for Pool A.

Looks like it will be hard to beat out South Dakota State.

No surprise here. South Dakota State won Pool A:
South Dakota State 56.2%.
Western Illinois 38.4%.
UMKC 5.4%.

Voting for Pool B is now underway.

North Dakota won Pool B:
North Dakota 67%.
North Dakota State 17%.
Omaha 16%.

Voting for Pool C will start Monday at 10:00 AM.

Voting for Pool C is now underway:

South Dakota won Pool C.

That means it will be an all-Dakota Final Three. Voting is now under way.
