So, I missed posting this week's matchup. Looks like it was IPFW's Don the Mastadon vs ORU's Eli the Eagle.

Somewhat surprisingly (to me, anyway), Don won that round. Judging by how they're progressing through the bracket, I'd guess that next week will be Omaha's Durango the Bull vs USD's Charlie the Coyote, then Rocky vs SDSU's Jack the Jackrabbit the next week. Winner of our matchup will take on Don...if we get past SDSU, I like our odds.

The difference might be the enrollment factor:
IPFW: 12,719
Oral Roberts: 3,481

True, I guess I just think of ORU as more of an involved student fanbase, since they generally are up at the top of basketball attendance. IPFW, I think of more as a "commuter" campus, and would have more casual fans or students who aren't as interested in sports and stuff.

This week's matchup is Omaha's Durango vs USD's Charlie. At this point, looks like Charlie is winning. This means that our matchup against SDSU's Jack should start Tuesday morning next week. So, keep an eye out for that.

Apparently several in the Summit League think "Rocky" is the worst mascot of the bunch. Let's make them sure that his fans don't think so!!!!

Well, it was a tough matchup for the first round. Rocky was eliminated in the Mascot Madness tournament.
Apparently we won in the commenting on instagram and facebook, but the vast majority of votes were on twitter (1,392 total votes) and Jack won 59% of the votes there.

So, it'll be NDSU's Thundar the Bison vs USD's Charlie the Coyote on one side, and SDSU's Jack the Jackrabbit vs Fort Wayne's Don the Mastadon on the other.
