Summit league is starting a "best mascot" tournament next week. Stay tuned for updates and how to vote for Rocky.

Yea, as long as we can get past SDSU's Jack, then the second round will likely be:
NDSU's Thundar vs USD's Charlie
Rocky vs ORU's Eli

Then Thundar vs Rocky for the final...that'll be a tough one. NDSU can organize really well when they want to.

Is it just me or does South Dakotas Mascot look more like the Hamm's Beer Bear?

Maybe they should call their mascot Sascha instead of Charlie.

I thought this was supposed to have started yesterday - all I can find are things that say "starting June 20th". No actual place to vote yet, I don't think. :?:

Looks like they're doing each matchup as a 24-hour contest, 1 at a time.
Here's the first one: http://www.thesummitleague.org/sports/a ... Madness1-1
Thundar vs IUPUI's Jawz

You can vote at their twitter post, or on facebook and instagram.

Are they limiting votes or should I be prepared for another bout of carpal tunnel syndrome?

Not sure, but I'd bet it's pretty easy to game the system. That being said, I don't think you get anything for winning other than bragging rights. So, I'd say have fun with it, but they won't be writing scripts and organizing clicking "parties" to win this thing.

I just realized that Denver has been given the cold shoulder in this contest. If I am them, I might be screaming foul. Is that the price you pay for being a private hockey school?

Update: They are apparently still mascotless at this point in time and their "unofficial" one has been in hot water of late.

Yup, no mascot, no participation in mascot tournament.

Thundar won the first round, unsurprisingly.
Next pairing will be announced tomorrow.
