Forrest Suycott

Former WIU Band Director Forrest Suycott passed away last Wednesday at the age of 94: http://www.wiu.edu/news/newsrelease.php ... e_id=14820
He was the director of the WIU marching band from '55-'65 and was the Dean of the College of Fine Arts from 1969-1987. I never knew him...retired just a bit before my time at Western, but from the sounds of it, was a great guy who absolutely loved teaching music.
There was even an article in his local paper in January this year talking about him conducting monthly "Music Talks" to the fellow residents of the retirement community where he and his wife lived: http://herald-review.com/lifestyles/hea ... fba58.html
