In theory, yes. But depending on the job, there is a time frame before expiration that you have to notify the person and they will get some number of months/years of pay even after leaving.

However, for Thomas, the Board controls his salary, contract, and employment. They could say, sayonara, and he'd have to vacate by their deadline. Of course, that would require the Board actually show leadership :x

Third school:

UMass has a nice system in place. Five major research schools all under that UMass umbrella. UMass Boston about 15K enrollment and plays D3 athletics as does Umass Dartmouth. Umass Amherst and Lowell are the D1 big boys. The UMass Med School focuses on something other than athletics fortunately. Nine other smaller state schools spread around the state. Looks like most of them are all D3 schools playing in the same athletic conference (Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference). That is a built-in rivalry generator.

Good Gawd could Illinois imrove their situation by borrowing some of their ideas.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Just read from the Boston Harold the next president will be taking on a campus beleaguered by debt and a frustrated community over program and staff cuts along with a 30 million dollar deficit Yikes.

He is definitely looking. Gotta wonder why he pulled out of the Boise State position. Maybe he'll have better luck with the Boston one than he did with Tuskegee.

I've heard that rumor, too! Whatever recruiter he signed up with is doing a good job directing him.

That is also a rumor that may have crossed my ears as well.
