Western asks for a 36% funding increase for the next fiscal year (FY 2020). WIU trustees want $17.2 million more on top of the $47.2 million it got this year, for a total of $64.4 million.

Illinois’ public universities seek double-digit funding increases.

Demanding 3-times as much as most of the other 11 public state universities, especially when enrollment has nose-dived, does not seem a wise move.

As far as who is concerned I would rather ask for too much than too little. And what is the amount in real dollars and what is infrastructure money to keep WIU/Macomb safe and up to date. Sorry, WIU/Macomb deserves better support from the state. WIU/Macomb has gotten screwed in the past with support and that will continue with that attitude Tere! ;) jc
