I am stunned to think there is racism in Macomb. :o Heck, there is racism everywhere and unfortunately, our fearless leader in my opinion has made it seemingly "okay!" I liked one of the contributors on Capitalfax that said the WIU was a mix of people from all over and that is what made it such a great place to go to school. I still think that this is the case. Seems like Dr. Abraham is taking this situation head on.

My take for what it is worth is Dr. Thomas and crew did not have an answer or a next move once Rauner's work was completed. WIU already was loosing students. Just cutting budgets was not going to get it done. No matter, Dr. Thomas had more years in Macomb than most college and university presidents. Change is good, especially when institutions such as WIU seem to be not moving in a direction that people can believe in. ;) jc

Someone left a racial statement in a bathroom at Elmhurst College a couple of weeks ago. There is no excuse for any of this but it does seem to be the world we live in. When they find the person who left the note in the Currens Hall computer lab, I hope they throw him/her to the wolves. jc

Why is there rampant racism in our society?

Why are we more polarized than ever?

I am begging for reasons to be kicked off this board. Why don't we look to the President of the United States of America to help guide us to polite discourse among ourselves. This is this guys schtick. Get everybody as angry as they can possibly be against each other......well then I will just do what ever seems appropriate in my judgement.

If what is reported is true it is reprehensible, How many people were witness? Dozens no doubt, Why are there no other outcrys? Obviously reprehensible propaganda can not be removed or disturbed without documentation from the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction of said place.

Local Law enforcement will have taken ownership of this action. Sounds like a Felony Hate crime whereby FBI gets involved. I don't know if it is a felony to misrepresent a hate crime, I didn't major in LEJA.

If it is as it sounds I would beat the shit out of a coward that would hang that sign. I have been morning the loss of our football team like a Marriage soon to end in divorce. I have taken the news of the University's misfortunes as that of a loved one succumbing to a slow death. It takes a toll. It makes me sad and angry. I am Caucasian and my first prom I took a young lady of color. After College I lived in Chicago near Montrose and Clark and had a roomate that was black, well, I had a lot of roommates those first years as I'm sure many can relate. HaHa...

I found out today that one of my fraternity brothers died of a heart attack. He was 46, yes wife kids ...... I love WIU.

It took me 15 years to pay off my student loan.... I hate WIU? the State? myself?

Sure seems like we constantly have people who don't care about WIU doing dumb things that mess with our momentum and hinder our chances of getting out of the enrollment hole!. ;) jc
