It looks like they will move forward with a national search with Dr. Abraham as interim president. I'm sure he is welcome to apply and interview for the permanent position.wiu712 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:17 pm Martin Abraham in line to become permanent WIU president.

Agree, wasn't expecting that and not sure what to think. I think he would have been a good choice and sounded like he had support at the University, but Doesn't seem like it is a bad idea either to conduct a national search.sealhall74 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2019 1:27 pmWow, wasn't expecting that. How about stealing an idea from the Flagship U and Supreme Court? Like an odd number of voting trustee members so we can avoid the tie. Ties dont look good to the public (i.e. you are stuck in neutral).
While I am ranting, not sure it is wise to give the student trustee a vote in matters that become effective long after he is gone.

I thought the QCtimes was pretty informative regarding this situation. The equal opportunity rep for the university said that a search is necessary and I agree. We can not allow any racism or perceived racism to impede this very important process. Transparency is very very important! Dr. Abraham has got the "good ship" WIU pointed in the right direction. His comments were full of positive momentum. Getting behind him and staying behind him can only benefit the university!! jc

“What I would encourage everyone to do is to continue to rally and continue to be positive,” Dolieslager said. “We have good momentum. In some areas, we have great momentum. Momentum is a powerful thing.”
I totally agree! If I am Martin, I am going to say, "I am still here, lets go!"

Or, because 2 of the Board vehemently didn't want you named Acting President in June, staged a walkout when they didn't have the votes to undo the vote at the July retreat, and gained 2 others to support you not being President now, recognize that 3 of those 4 against you will still be on the Board when the 12th President is named, realize you will never have their support because of a personal agenda that has nothing to do with anything positive you have done for Western or the Macomb community.Neckfansince71 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:26 am “What I would encourage everyone to do is to continue to rally and continue to be positive,” Dolieslager said. “We have good momentum. So what does that mean Tere? "Bitter" is not going to do it! Moving on to "better" is the only choice. jc
