So I am not positive on this, but after the new parking lot and the CPA is finished it appears that Phase I may be finished and both of these are in process of being constructed(CPA going out for bid near the finish of parking lot in October). Only items on Phase I that I do not know about are the heating Plant 3D Classroom Renovations, Sherman Hall Bell tower Restoration, Enhance Legacy walk and Adams St Gateway. I know they did some cleaning up near corner of Adams and Charles, but not anything to major and town is planning on doing some widening in near future between Lafeyette and Charles on Adams St. The school began on Phase II already with the installation of new Hanson Field Scoreboard and my guesses is in the fall semester we will hear about the West Side Renovations.

The 3D classroom renovation for the Heating Plant Annex has been completed as well. It was a remodeling of the art studio areas that are used for stuff like metals, ceramics, and sculptures.

Here's some more info about it: http://www.wiu.edu/vpas/fm/_projects/art_dept.php
And here's some photos from the project: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/107985 ... 608033516/

I don't know where they are on the Sherman bell tower restoration or the legacy walk (although they have been doing some work around campus...improving crosswalks and curbs...so that might be the beginning stages of that). Adams Street hasn't gone anywhere yet, but as you mentioned, the City may be planning on doing some stuff there as well.

Also, as near as I can tell, the University Union remodel project is probably at a good "stopping point" for now.
If you look at the rendering of it here: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/107985 ... 7421906804 you can see that on the right there is a 2nd level balcony area and to the left of that, a taller "atrium" area with a 3rd level balcony on top of that. The stuff on the right is done and cleaned up (actually looks like all the construction stuff has been moved out for now). So the lower balcony area looks similar to this now: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/107985 ... 7421906804. Also, I believe that all (or nearly all) of the interior remodeling has been completed. The stuff on the left has not been started, but what has been completed looks nice right now. If they're going to do that second part, they'll probably wait until next summer to get it going, or maybe late Spring, so they can have it done by Fall 2015.

Pretty amazing that they are basically right on track so far with the schedule they laid out as I think they gave Phase I 3 years to be completed and 2015 should be going into the 3rd year of the Master Plan.

Happened to stop in to the Master Plan page and maybe I missed it before, but they have year to year presentations and reports at the bottom of page. Looks like their big focus now is the science Building and a new, and very large, art gallery right on Murray Street. This would be a neat addition. I just hope they decide to demo that building(old Cinema) on Northeast entrance soon and remove the pavement at least even if they are not going to do welcome center soon plant it in prairie grass and make it look nice for the time being. I cant image a demo of this size and pavement removal would be a huge dent in their budget compared to the visual impact this would hold.
