Interim, yes. Potentially permanent? Not so sure about that. It couldn't hurt to look at others, I don't think.
President searches typically take about 6 months or longer. The interim will have plenty of time to get his feet wet.

True, but by then we should have an idea if he is what the university needs, as well.

Ok, folks. So, this thread has been going for about 3 1/2 years now, and gone through a few different rounds of cuts and layoffs.
We now have a new governor, new budget, new board of trustees, and will have a new university president. I'm going to go ahead and lock it down now. Feel free to continue to discuss all the goings-on, I just feel like this is a good place to "end" this particular thread and start "fresh".
