Non story, For a non "Major". If you have one person in the Dept. and its the only major in the State. Well, it's like this, Emergencies happen, we don't know when or where. Competent Leadership stands up to direct responses and mitigate damage. You don't need to major in something you may only use once every 3 to 8 years.... It's called something different, "Leadership". Schools in the 80s 90s and 00 just kept adding on and making up new Majors.

This should never have been a thing.

10-4 agree with you. Organizations create Go-Teams and Red-Teams to deal with emergencies. This major sounds like someone's pet project to me. Maybe a certificate program at best.

Someone will need to clue me in on how those "Ag" options relate to emergency management. The only thing I can come up with is that if we cant produce food, we would definitely have an emergency situation. More likely an error on the website.

Definitely an error. Those are the options for a BS in Agriculture.

I'll get it taken care of. Thanks for mentioning it. If anyone ever sees anything that's incorrect on the WIU website, please let me know. If I can't fix it myself, I know the person who can.

State Senator Chapin Rose (R-Mahomet) suggests consolidating functions and offerings at the state’s public universities to help address costs. Without changes, funding issues will continue to compound, he said.

Exactly the problem. “We have an excess of capacity in this state,” Rose said. Despite having fewer students, “we keep going on a spending spree and building out more capacity.”

Wish we could go back and undo the decision to expand WIU with the satellite Moline campus. Big mistake.
