Scott, anything new at the golf course as far as demolition and construction of the new clubhouse/ed. facility are concerned? ;) jc

Haven't been up the hill in a while. I wonder if they're waiting until the course closes for the winter or something.
I'll keep my eye out for it next time I'm up that way.

The contract says that it is suppose to be done in May 2018. I don't think they are waiting for the golf course to close. I was told that the golf course was going to be run out of the building used for large events. ;) jc

Finally headed out of town to the north last Saturday after the game and drove past the golf course. In case anyone was worried that nothing was getting done, the old clubhouse is completely gone and all cleared away now. It's just a flat dirt area currently. I'll keep an eye on things and report back when there are more updates.

I am hoping in the near future that pictures of the construction of this facility can be found in "Current Facilities Management Projects!" Right now the #1 project is "demolition of Higgins Hall" which even though it was much needed is not the kind of thing you want to dwell on for too long. As I have said a number of times, this clubhouse/ed. facility has been needed for quite some time and will move and help our golf programs big time!!!! ;) jc

Just heard from someone who went past the golf course on the way out of town this morning.
They're digging, surveying, and setting posts. Looks like they're trying to get footings and foundation in while it's above freezing this week.
So there ya go. Doing what they can while the weather is "nice" (for this time of year).

Well, here's a quick photo of what they're doing. I'll try to get in touch with the Facilities management people to get some more up to date info and photos online.

Gracias! Looks like holes and digging as you said. The old clubhouse is gone, correct? Is the new one being built on that site or in another spot in that area? ;) jc

Old clubhouse was removed maybe a month or so ago.
