Another rule that sounds likely to pass is that student athletes will be able to transfer anywhere without sitting out a year.

It'll be interesting to see how this impacts FCS schools...good players get poached by lower FBS teams...some lower FCS teams lose their best players to top FCS teams...maybe little impact at all. Could be a good thing for the athletes themselves giving them more flexibility with schools if something just isn't working out or if there is....say....a coaching change, for example. So...we'll see.

Add in a JUCO first year, and I think you might be able to swing playing for 4 different colleges during your athletic career without sitting out a single year.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Looks like there will now be at least a one year delay in implementing this "immediately-eligible" transfer policy.

Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Men's basketball coach Barry Hinson was the most vocal critic of allowing players to transfer to other schools without a one-year sit-out penalty. “If the media doesn’t take hold of this right now, you can shut mid and low major basketball down,” Hinson said. “It’s over. We are going to go to two divisions.”

Immediate transfer proposal on hold.
