Huh...that is interesting. Here's his stats/info from his time as a Spider: https://richmondspiders.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2979
I wonder if they're wanting a bit of competition for the QB job, maybe to help push Sampson or just so we can have an experienced backup or something.

Looks like a RB from Richmond had his visit at the same time as Johnson did. Deontez Thompson (https://twitter.com/Tezz_Doe) is supposed to be announcing where he's transferring this evening.

Just saw on Twitter he was in Macomb with Deontez Thompson who is also transferring from Richmond too. His Twitter says he’ll be announcing his decision tonight. I believed he played RB for Richmond and has one year left.

Yeah, updated my post probably at the same time you were putting together yours.

Would be nice if they came together, especially if the QB is being looked at as a starter. Appears they work well together.

Agreed. Their videos make it seem like they are pretty good friends/teammates so that would def help on the field. Question, is the RB a type of back we need? Haven’t looked at any of his highlights yet.

I just saw what he had on his twitter feed, and he looked pretty good. Not "shifty" like McShane was, but not as much a bowling ball as Norris is, either.

Johnson’s highlights from the FCS Playoffs a few years ago. He looks pretty good and I do like how he is a mobile QB too.

Here’s Thompson highlights for two years ago. He can catch the ball out of the back field and has some decent speed. Finding a player like McShane will be tough as that break away speed can’t be taught.
