So I will be making this game, does anyone know if the alumni or athletic department always sell tickets for us at away games or only when the alumni association does a tailgate? Amy (I believe that’s her name) is great to deal with but before I annoy her was curious if anyone knew that answer?

I understand not wanting to bother someone, but Amy is great to deal with as you said. I think she would love to hear from you about tickets. She's amazing, and really loves to promote anything Western!

Why didn't I think to do that before shelling out $45 to end up sitting with a bunch of Bobcat fans.

Here is some of the interviews about the upcoming game with MSU.
Breakdown on WIU around the 11 minute mark.

I can't find the particular one regarding WIU. What is the date and title of that specific podcast, do you know? Thanks!
The podcast KWCAT is referring to is the Cat Chat August 22, 2018. Coach Choate thinks well of your new coach and quarterback. He has the highest respect for your number 99 Saunders. May be best in FCS. I really see this game as a fantastic matchup. You guys will learn right away if you have shored up your offensive line. Thinks Bobcats are the underdog.
Thanks!! I like the offensive line. 😄

Restaurant/Activity outlook for Bozeman:

BozeAngelesCat put together a very nice list of restaurants and things to do a few pages back on this thread.
No Triple Ds in Montana or even North Dakota or South Dakota for that matter. Although rumor has it that Guy Fieri was scouting out a spot or two in Bozeman in June while on a family trip to Yellowstone. Closest Triple D spot to Macomb I think is Charlie Parker's in Springfield which has the Horseshoe on their menu. We gotta get Guy to Macomb.

I am thinking about doing a Hot Springs Spa and Resort visit the days I am there. Hate to not get in some kind of workout when I am on the road. If the web site is correct, it only costs about $7 for a visit which is cheaper than the YMCA daily rate.

FYI, Montana used to have a huge Testicle Festival every year although from what I gather, it was recently cancelled after 35 years. I gotta think there has to be some place in Bozeman or close that still serves up a good plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters. I need to cross off another food item from my bucket list. Also waiting anxiously to find some good meaty frog legs.

I was told the alumni association isn’t doing anything for the MSU game and I already bought tickets. But, I’m trying to find out where I’m going to tailgate on Thursday. You know, the important stuff.

While not aired yet, Guy actually did do a Triple D in Bozeman earlier this year. BozeAngelesCat noted that Storm Castle Cafe will be one of the ones featured as well as The Roost. Storm Castle is an amazing breakfast and is only a couple blocks from the stadium. Normally packed on a game day, with a Thursday game it may be a bit easier to get into. Also, Sidewinders that he mentions in his post is a place that was featured on Triple D with it's Jackson Hole location but it is the same menu/food in Bozeman.

Anyway, wanted to stop by and introduce myself, I'm kmax (Kevin) and I am one of the admins of BobcatNation.com. Hope to get to see and meet some WIU fans this Thursday. As several people have stated, the tailgates are plentiful and you will be welcomed in for food and drink at any of the simply by walking by in most cases. We do have a large tailgate that we host and would love to see any of you stop by there as well. I will be doing up a low country boil for the game this Thursday so come by and partake. Also as noted by others the Great Falls Tailgate is huge and a very easy place for visiting fans to get into and will be welcomed.

For those that are wondering what the tailgating looks like, I took a 360 image of it from our spot back in 2014. This was from about 3 hours before game time for our Gold Rush (opening night) game in 2014: https://goo.gl/maps/gmS3r4pW5hL2

For a little flavor of what the Gold Rush game and the atmosphere is like at MSU, check out this video:

Can't wait for Thursday night! For all of you coming to the game, safe travels and hope to get to meet some of you.
