Looks like WIU will be searching for a new DC yet again as coach Stockton has acccepted a position at Ball state.

I would look for Coach Melvin to take on this role. He’s more than qualified to run our defense and keep our scheme in place. Our defenses have been so much better since we’ve switched to a 3-4.

If you go back and look at the stats we held a lot of offenses and QB’s well below their season average when we played them. We just didn’t score enough points the last two games. Not a good time for our offense to go MIA!

I agree. I think Coach Melvin would do a great job as DC.

Agreed i actually thought he would get it last year but Stockton proved he deserved I think it's interesting he's go to be the Co Dc with Elson. Hopefully have an Alum as the DC they'll stick around for more than a year.

Looks like he is the Co-DC & Inside LB coach at Ball St. It stinks to lose assistant coaches, but then again when you have quality coaches they will be in demand at the higher levels.

We are down 2 Coaches on Defense right now. I know it's early, but that also means 2 less coaches out on the recruiting trails. I hope we get these new guys hired and on the road as soon as possible. I wouldn't mind seeing one of them be a former Coach at one of the top JUCO programs. Couldn't hurt having that contact for some of those kids. Would also like to see a HS Coach from on of the more populated areas in Central Illinois or St Louis get the other spot. St Louis has a ton of talent, and both areas would do a lot for attendance if we started getting more kids from those ares.

We need to keep the Chicago recruiting pipeline WIDE OPEN. Every Big Ten team has star players from Chicago Metro. The guys that, didn't mature yet or fell through the cracks are what we are after. We obviously don't offer a guy with multiple P-5 offers, however that guy played on a team that allowed him to be a P-5....worth looking around to see his teammates and see what the they had contributed. Scottie Pippen would have been the Bulls greatest player, he happened to be on a team with another player.

It is being reported that Erik Frazier took a job at Montana State. Not sure if that was posted here yet or not.

Thinking outside of the box. I like it!

Also worth noting we might be able to get Mexico to pay for it. I've heard they're into paying for other countries construction projects.
