Gotta say, I'm getting a little tired of seeing articles talking about how hot and humid it's going to be in Florence.
Example: http://www.chicagonow.com/prairie-state ... eep-south/
When Western Illinois opens its 2019 season Thursday night in Florence, Ala., the Leathernecks will not only face a quality opponent but also the steamy conditions of the South.
Game time temperatures are expected to be in upper 80s with heavy humidity and a chance for thunderstorms.
I mean, it's great that our coaches are hyping the players up to think it's going to be hot and humid down there, but did nobody actually look at the forecast?

Kickoff temperature in Florence, AL is supposed to be 79 degrees, 52% humidity, and a dew point of 61 (with a 0% chance of rain).
To compare, same time here in Macomb...77 degrees, 69% humidity, and a dew point of 67 (with a 60% chance of thunderstorms).

So...it'll feel nicer in Florence than it will in Macomb during the game. And other than the last few days (which have been really nice), the guys have been practicing in weather quite a bit worse than what they'll have in AL tonight.

The wait is what I always hated as a player and as a coach. As time went on though, I did learn to just put everything out of my head after the final practice before game day. There was really nothing else to but wait. A relaxed build up to game time was my goal for my players but no matter what, the first game always had a ton of unknowns!!! ;) jc

I wonder if coaches impose a "NO Social Media" use rule so many hours before game time.
Embrace the pace of the race.

We are not good. We will be eaten alive in the MVC.

Still early, lots of new people getting a feel for things. It's been a rough start, but we're not even to halftime of the first game yet.

WHOM EVER OUR KICK RETURNER/PUNT RETURNER is needs to be pulled now. This is D1 football, I know it’s the first game but come on!

Edit. It wasn’t a turn over but still! Why even make a play on that ball?!
