The MVFC is doing a series on the top 3 players at each of 10 positions in league history.

For the Defensive Backs, Western has the #1 and #3 spots:

We've also got #1 on the punter's list (duh):

We've got #3 on the Linebacker list:

#2 on the Offensive Linemen list:

An Honorable mention on the Tight Ends list:

And #3 on the placekicker's list:

As I recall, Bryan Cox was a LB at Western and not a DB. Am I mistaken?

I was suprised about that a few years back when looking at the All-American and All-Conference teams of the past. He was a DB and made first team all-conference in 89 and 90. What I found confusing is they shows him making the 87 team as a DL, but also found previous writings on him that state he was the nickelback on the defense his Freshman (87) year???

During his senior year, the other DB was Lamar McGriggs. Lamar was also drafted in the NFL and spent 4 seasons there before a successful CFL career. Pretty nice Defensive backfield that year.

They also put out the video for top RB's in the conference:
We've got #2 and #3 on this one (you can probably guess who they are).

They're now running down "Fantastic Finishes" in MVFC history. This one is big comebacks. Western is actually listed for 2 of them, one for each side of the comeback (the 3rd place one was last weekend's game).

I was a bit mad that they didn't even mention "The Kick", but then I saw:
"If not listed below, the moment you are looking for could be coming later in another yet-to-be released Top Moment segment. Still to come: The Number Ones, Streak Snappers, The Playoffs
Historical Significance, Championship Clinchers, Individual Accomplishments"

I'd imagine we'll see "The Kick" either Championship Clinchers probably, since it won both the game and the conference championship that year.
