Awesome...great scheduling job on that. Western is one of the few teams who have gone into Washington-Grizzly Stadium and been able to come away with a win. It's a great environment and really loud...apparently it rivals the Fargodome even though it's an outdoor stadium. I probably won't be able to make it out there, but I've heard it's one of the greatest experiences in FCS football to attend a game there, so if you can make it out, I'd highly recommend it. Plus...August and September should be beautiful out there...you probably don't want to be there late-season...unless it's the playoffs.

Just saw that: http://goleathernecks.com/news/2017/2/7 ... edule.aspx

On the plus side...all DI schedule. On the downside, only 4 home games, with the first not being until the end of September. Still, I'd rather have the game at Tennessee Tech rather than Saint Xavier at home for the possible playoff implications and because of all the players we've been recruiting/looking at in the Tennessee/Georgia area.

Wow ==> Only 4 home games.

The first home game will be Week 5 on September 30 vs South Dakota. This will also be Western Homecoming.

Not a good schedule for the Western students since the last home game on November 18 will be the first weekend of Thanksgiving Break.

The extra travel is brutal for the players, who are also taking a full load of classes. TEnn Tech is a little over 8 hours away, so it'll undoubtedly be by bus. At least they'll fly to NAI and CC.... hopefully fly to NDSU... but is there a budget for that?!

The students do not show up in great numbers anyway. I doubt this trend will change anytime soon. This team will certainly be "road tested" in 2017...

WIU football releases road heavy schedule in 2017.
