The men's team is now 8-4 overall this season with a 5-4 record against DI opponents.
Outside of a lower-division home game on 1/13, all the rest of the games will be Summit League matchups.

Like I often do with football, I thought I'd be interesting to check out stat rankings for the team currently.
#1 team in DI for fewest fouls with only 164 total
#16 in defensive rebounds per game (29.5)
#19 in FG percentage (50.5%)

Brandon Gilbeck is #4 in DI in FG % (70.4%) and #22 in total blocks (37).

Full stat ranking available here.

This week we have two conference road games:

South Dakota Coyotes

ORU is currently 5-11 and have a matchup with Fort Wayne on Thursday prior to our game with them. They have a 4-10 record against DI opponents with wins over Little Rock, Missouri State, Florida Gulf Coast, and Omaha.

The Hagedorn Gilbeck matchup should be a good one to watch. I wonder who will get the pleasure of guarding Mooney tonight. Probably Duff my guess.

Update: Hagedorn has a little Daum in him. Boy likes to pop the 3 now and then. Shooting about 38% from beyond arc.

I was reading about South Dakota's game against Denver and the difference in free throws between the two teams. Cheers to "no home cooking" tonight!

I think it is on CoyoteVision for free. Will find out shortly. Probably less malware this route.

Yup, if you can stomach a USD video ad, then you can watch it live for free there.

We are getting killed on the boards by a much more physical, not necessarily taller, team. Gilbeck picked up 2 fouls, one a moving screen, another one (technical variety) for mouthing off to official and had to sit a good part of the half. Running the weave around the perimeter is about all we can do without him on the court.

At the half, down 35-22.

They are definitely more physical. They are just pushing us out of position on shots for rebounds. We need Tate Stensgaard who is sitting in the crowd to suit up. Bright spot, they are playing pretty good defense on Mooney.

Agree, our defense is definitely good enough to keep us in the game. Just have to find a way to score points.

Final 62-50 Yotes.
We got close but they hit a lot of FTs at the end to ice it.
Not a great shooting game for either team.
On to T-Town.
