So you can't let a team like Stetson back in the game. You got to take it to them repeatedly until they don't believe that they can win. When you are 1-8, you have lost a lot of close games. You let them back in, they begin to believe! The TV guys were really very complimentary about Billy's boys, but that was before they stormed back and put the game in jeopardy! You want to have a really nice year, you gotta win these games! Ugh!!!!! jc
Stetson wins the game 68-64. Western had a 16 point lead with 3 minutes left in the first half. Western was out-scored by 12 points in the second half.
Kobe Webster led the Western scoring with 22 points. Isaac Johnson had 13.
Attendance at Stetson = 374.
Next game will be at Western Hall on Saturday vs Eastern Illinois. Game time is 7PM.

Out 3 bigs were a combined 7-7 from the field. They need to touch the ball every time down the court.
Embrace the pace of the race.
Yea, we have only been saying this for Billy’s entire tenure. I just don’t get it.sealhall74 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:11 pm Out 3 bigs were a combined 7-7 from the field. They need to touch the ball every time down the court.
Appears I had some false hope like every previous year.

Let’s be real, this was one game they caught the ball. Outside of Gilbeck the other two can’t catch a ball if they had super glue on their hands. Touch the ball every time... does taking the ball out of bounds count?vatusay wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:21 pmYea, we have only been saying this for Billy’s entire tenure. Stetson's skinny big was 9-17 from the field and ended up with 22 points. He owned us largely because Gilbeck was on the bench in foul trouble. This is the history that sadly keeps repeating itself. I am seeing some improvement over time in our picks from the big guys (i.e. fewer moving screens) but we still screw them up about half the time by not pivoting on the correct foot before rolling to the bucket and looking for the ball. This is stuff I learned in Junior High. Not just our kids. Everywhere these days. Fundamentals are weak.wiu2013 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 8:32 pmLet’s be real, this was one game they caught the ball. It just amazes me to see how much different the 2 teams are ran I never leave a game saying wow if the girls had only played harder. JD doesn't accept any less than a 100% with Billy it's just expected. JD has gotten T'D up the last 2 games you will never see that type of ire on the other side.
