Hopefully the squad can figure out how to win the second part of the second half. Any win is a good win at this point to try and get away from the cellar door.

Brandon is the one of (maybe) the only true Centers in the Summit. Everyone we play simply moves their big out to the perimeter and says "Hey Brandon, come and get me". That leaves the paint open and we usually get burned. There is something called a zone defense to prevent this.

Looks like we are going to need one of those 16 point runs to get back in this one.

My two cents is this. If you are going to hang your hats on man defense, then play tight man defense. They out-tighted us forcing us into tough fade-aways. We dont do that very well.

I hope Gilbeck passed the concussion protocol test. Also looked like Kobe lost some lateral mobility when he hurt his knee. Both guys we have to have around.

We played in "frustration mode" for much of the second half. Stood watching while Kobe tried to go one on one. I don't mind an "iso" play when you need a bucket, but someone has got to go to the board for a rebound. Pyle fell down looking for a foul that leads to an easy bucket for USD. Our big boy got a bloody lip in a collision with two other players. They just moved the ball and got it to people who were wide open. We stopped running the floor hard, USD continued to charge down the floor making layups or getting fouled. We lost our cool, and we loose our cool whenever this happens. Its as if the front wheel begins to wobble a bit needing realignment. We miss another layup that we just throw up there, and the wheel wobbles even more. We never got it straightened out today and we have seen this countless times in the past. They played as a team against FW and USD on the road. They also seemed to buy into the system early in the season, but we lost some games that we should have won because we lost alignment at the end, failing to hit shots or get open shots and ending the game in desperation. Stetson loss was definitely an example of how well we can play and just how well we don't especially as a team when "shit hits the fan!" ;) jc
