I never knew or completely forgot that Coach Mo had a JD degree. I worked with several people in my computer career who were trained lawyers but turned to alternative job choices. Small sample size, but they all were some of the finest thinkers and most dedicated professionals that I dealt with.

Western needed to find more money for Jim Molinari. The only reason he came here was an aligning of the stars. He just needed to be head coach again and Western was the closet place outside of Bradley to his family and his home. I mean he went to Minnesota and Ball St. I believe both of his boys finished high school in Peoria.

Western needed to find more money somewhere anywhere to keep Jim Molinari. Western anin't gettin' a guy moving forward that has coaching experience at DePaul, Northern Illinois, Minnesota, Ball State, and Creighton.

So in reality I don't think it was all money for MO. He lost his #1 recruiter to Ball State and then he was once more faced with the fact that he had to push the cart back up the hill again. I also think he was tired of being the "man!" He left WIU to become the defensive guru at Big Ten and big time Nebraska where he only had to be concerned with X's and O's and none of the public and alumni relations stuff. ;) jc
