Impressive display of basketball so far. During warmups, the kids had smiles and were joking around. What a difference it makes to play loose and have some fun.

Just checked. I think USD prefers the #8 tournament slot. If they would move up to #7 with a win, they would play the Jacks in first round. Not something anyone in South Dakota would want to see. A loss and they get the 'Dons. This may have something to do with how good we look tonight.
Embrace the pace of the race.
Western wins 90-76!
Garret Covington led the Western scoring with 16 points. Jabari Sandifer and Mike Miklusak each had 15. J.C. Fuller had 13. Brandon Gilbeck had 11.
Western had 11 three-point baskets.
The Alumni Pep Band played for both games. Great job!
Attendance at Western Hall was 1,288.

It was a really fun game, especially the first half. Just went nuts with the 3-pointers and were up by 25 at the half. Second half the started to give it away....USD had quite a run for a while and pulled within 6 points, but we were able to fight back and hold on to the lead for the win. It is too bad that it was essentially all for bragging rights, but it was nice to send the seniors out with a win, at least.

I absolutely thought the game was over when USD went on that run in the second half. Then wiu forced three turnovers in a row that lead to some fast break points.
10 of the 11 threes were in the first half.
You guys definitely exert a lot of energy throughout the game.
