BIG game on Wednesday vs South Dakota State at Western Hall. Game time is 7PM. The game will be on ESPN3. This will be a battle for first place. Both teams are tied for first with each having a 10-3 record in the Summit League.

This will be the biggest home game for the current Western students. Last year's Women's CBI home game vs SIU-Carbondale came during Spring Break when the students were gone. And the Men's Co-Championship came during the 2012-2013 season. The current senior class arrived as freshmen in the fall of 2013. So they were not here for the Men's championship run.

I am hoping that we have a large and loud crowd for this big game.

Rule #1 for Wednesday (or any night for that matter):

Absolutely no sitting in the bleachers behind the baskets while game is in progress!

If it takes some of these taped to the damn bleachers, so be it:

It is a good article a day before the game. It might get a few more fans into the game. The Leathernecks have had some close games in Macomb against the Jackrabbits. The winner of this game has control of the wheel for conference title and #1 seed. Hopefully, the Jackrabbits can handle the pressure from the defense and shoot better than they did in Indianapolis. If the Jackrabbits get the points in the paint, it will bode better for the visitors. That is the match ups that hurt the Leathernecks in Brookings. I will need to watch the rerun since there is a men's game at the same time. It should be a great game.

Coaches J.D. Gravina and Seth Minter will be giving away $1,000 to one lucky student if 500 students show up for the game!

In addition:
There will be free Dippin' Dots.
After the game, there will be a 43" TV given away to the first person making a half-court shot.

29% FG, 22% 3PT, -3 Asst/TO is what hurt the Leathernecks in Brookings, along with a very raucous SDSU crowd (props on that btw). Those stats from Brookings are abnormalities for the 'Necks this year, so don't expect them tonight. Western Hall will be rockin'.

The Jackrabbit defense was good that night. They did not let the Leathernecks close to the arc without some attention.

Our achilles heel is definitely in or near the paint and that is giving up rebounds. If we are shooting the ball well, we can overcome it. I like our chances to pull this one off if we can get out to a fast start and keep the crowd into the game from tip to taps (military lights out).

Pretty small crowd so far let's hope it fills in.
