Howdy Leathernecks!

NIU will face the Jackrabbits in Brookings for the 1st Round of the WNIT.

Would anyone like to provide a scouting report for SDSU?

I see that WIU split the regular season meetings with the Jacks (Jills?). Are they more a defensive team or offensive team? How are they in the paint? How good/consistent are their perimeter shooters? What types of teams give them the most trouble? What type of teams do they seem to handle better?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks and GOOD LUCK in the WNCAA Tournament!

They are a very well coached team and probably the most balanced team in the league they are a very good defensive team that starts two post with another girl can really shoot and Kerri young who will go down as one of the best play in there history if you can create turnovers and make them play fast pace you will have a lot of success.

NIU#1FBinIL, they put heavy pressure on the perimeter. Your guards need to be strong with the ball and attack. Midrange jumpers will be open for the taking but hitting them is a weakness of many women (and even men for that matter) teams.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Thanks for the info, that's actually somewhat of a relief. NIU had the 5th highest scoring offense in the NCAAWBB so the preference is to get out there and score. It'll be interesting to see if SDSU tries to keep pace or slow it down. Sounds like they'll attempt the latter. Should be an entertaining game.

Thanks for the info! I feel better about this match up. I'm sure it'll be a tough game, especially on the road, but NIU's guard play is a strength. The team is led by Sr. Guard Ally Lehman who set all sorts of records for assists, scoring, rebounding, triple-doubles, etc. NIU also has an Aussie Guard who can hit the outside jumper and a freshman Guard coming off the bench who was named MAC All-Freshman.

Should be a fun one.

Thanks again.
