We are playing for the outright conference championship. They are playing for a share of the league crown. Lets just save the Summit League some bucks this year and have them crank out one and only one banner to hang on the walls. Should be a very raucous Saturday PM in Western Hall.

Due to this weekend's Showcase of Bands many of the regular pep band members will be absent, so unfortunately, the pep band will not be at full strength....

....

...

Is what I'd say if it weren't for the 5th Annual Alumni Pep Band!!!!

We'll be loud, we'll have fun....things might get a bit weird...but we'll be there. Roughly half of the pep band today (including the conductor) will be alumni. You might hear some songs the band hasn't played all year, some might sound quite a bit different....I might be the entire trombone section again (like the last few games). We'll be there for both of the games, just fyi.

If the last few games are any indication, there should be a good loud crowd for at least the women's game too.

Congrats to JD and his crew. Outstanding effort from both teams. This one was a joy to watch from afar. I am sure it was even better in person. Looking forward to next weekend in Sioux Falls. Should be a great tournament.

Western wins 81-75!

Taylor Higginbotham led the Western scoring with 25 points. Emily Clemens had 24. Morgan Blumer had 10.

Both teams were 100% on free throws: 12 for 12 for USD. 20 for 20 for Western.

Attendance at Western Hall = 1,596. That is the largest crowd in program history.

Awesome game by the women....great crowd, great atmosphere...and a great win.

I'm pretty beat from running around, playing, yelling, and stomping all afternoon and evening, but had a great time.

They now have a week to rest, practice, and get better before taking on #8 seed Denver at Sioux Falls at noon next Saturday. WIU beat Denver both times they played them in the regular season, winning by 25 here in Macomb and then by 12 out in Denver.
