#1 Western takes on #5 Omaha at Noon
Live Stats | WatchESPN.com | Listen Live Online (WRMS 94.3)

The Leathernecks defeated Omaha at their place after mounting an 11-point 4th quarter comeback, 78-74 on January 11th. Then on February 4th, they got ahead early and never looked back, maintaining a lead the entire game and winning 80-63 at Western Hall.

More info on the matchup.

Despite the "Gravina Get-Out-Of-Work Card", I'll be at work during the game, but I'll have it up on my second monitor and I'll have the chat window open if anyone wants to talk about the game.

There will be a Watch Party at Sports Corner for today's game.

Sport Corner is nice but if you were watchng at the Denny in person, you could be dining on poutine, the Canadian national dish. I am going to be sampling it today for the first time. Last year the head scratcher on the menu was chislic. Not a big fan of that. A little tough. We are going to have to be extra tough today. Omaha looked pretty good yesterday.

A bit of a rough stretch here, UNO is up by 8 with about 2 minutes left in the first half.
Need to hit a few shots and then come back out of halftime strong.

Edit - halftime score is 47-39, advantage Omaha. So, down by 8, but it's a good time to regroup and catch their breath. We came back from 10 down in the fourth quarter at their place earlier in the season, so 8 down at half on a more neutral court....no problem ;)

EDIT 2 - after 3 quarters, down by 3 points. Had it tied up but Omaha had a 3 in the last few seconds of the quarter. Still anyone's game.

Yea, I hate this this "playing from behind" thing...lets get the lead and hold it.

oh phew.....my nerves are shot now

Western wins by 2 because Omaha loses track of the clock and doesn't get a shot off. 84-82.

We'll play tomorrow at 1 against the winner of IUPUI and South Dakota State.

When you get outplayed and still win, you are on your way to excellence.

Well, let's hope this game was their "jitters" game and we come out firing on all cylinders in the championship game.
