Sounds like our new "Associate Head Coach" is going to be Dan Chapla, former head coach at NAIA William Woods University (Fulton, MO)
https://wwuowls.com/news/2019/6/5/chapl ... coach.aspx

From his bio: "William Woods has won at least 20 games every season under the direction of Chapla, and he has taken the Owls to the NAIA National Tournament for a school-record nine consecutive years."

Prior to his time at WWU (11 years), he was:
HC at Culver-Stockton College (6 years)
Men's bball assistant coach at Ottawa University (Ottawa, KS; 2 years)
Men's bball assistant coach at U of Central Missouri (1 year)
Men's bball assistant coach at Culver-Stockton (3 years)
https://wwuowls.com/coaches.aspx?rc=598&path=wbball

Sounds like Coach Gravina and him kinda worked in the same circles for a while. Gravina was at NAIA McPherson College for a couple of years before he went to DII Quincy. Also, I haven't checked the dates, but probably Gravina's time at Quincy and Chapla's time at Culver-Stockton overlapped somewhat, and they're only about 20 miles down the road from each other.

Didn't WIU play William Woods in a pre-season/exhibition game or was that the men/

Also this hire would satisfy JD wanting someone who was a head coach and yes i assume JD was very familiar with him. Sounds like a good hire.

We also played them in 2017, and every year from 2009-2014.

EDIT - Kennedy Cattenhead is originally from Bolingbrook, IL and played at Illinois from 2013-2018 (redshirt in 13/14 -> R-Senior in 17/18). She actually lead the Illini with 18 points when we beat them in November of 2017 (77-67): https://fightingillini.com/roster.aspx? ... ath=wbball
She spent the 2018/19 season as an assistant coach at DII Maryville University in St. Louis (who went 18-10 last year).
