Looking at the standings, there is a huge logjam for second place with five teams all having 3 losses and both teams in tonight's 7pm matchup are in that mix. IMO, the games this weekend will be huge in separating the contenders from the pretenders. This one will be a test because historically, IUPUI plays a much different style of ball than we are accustomed to. They are quick and aggressive on the perimeter and last week they forced USD into 21 turnovers in their home blowout win against the league leaders. JD will need to throw a few surprise wrinkles at them on both offense and defense and we must make shots to have a chance in this one. A balanced scoring attack would certainly be welcome. Hopefully the gals are up to this challenge. Go Leathernecks!!!

Western up 36-30 at the half. Western with the early spurt getting out to an 18 point lead. IUPUI closed the half out with a good run of their own to get back in the game and they missed several bunnies or they would probably be leading.

There was a big state band convention in Peoria this week and they were unable to have the people there to do the band on Thursday.
There will be a band at the men's game today and the women's game on Saturday, however there will not be a band at Sunday's game unfortunately.

"Some nights shots don't fall for you and tonight was one of those nights," head coach Austin Parkinson said. "I thought our offensive hurt our defense tonight in that we stood around and took guarded shots which led to transition at the other end. Defensively, we have been playing well but multiple scouting report errors caused us to be out of position."
